Being pragmatic is not "blaming the victim" mmk?

I get it. I get that rape is bad. I get that sexual harassment sucks. I get that men should not rape and harass. I get that the way we have built up gender roles encourages these behaviors and should be worked against. I totally get it, guys.

In spite of the getting, I am sick of the phrase "blaming the victim" being brought up as a trump-card in discussion about conduct. I'm talking about shit like this:

Once again, I get it. I get that there are fat, stupid shitheads running around who will say things like "she deserved it", "she was asking for it", etc etc (we've all heard Rush Limbaugh talk out of his boner-pill-popping ass about things he doesn't understand). I get why these guys are wrong- no amount of visible inches above the knee makes raping a woman okay, nor should it even bring that action into your mind, you sick fuck.

BUT- let's talk pragmatically. This phrase "don't tell me not to x, tell men not to rape", coupled with it's ugly cousin "stop blaming the victim" have been brought up to challenge remarks that don't fit this same level of shititude, such as "we recommend not walking home from the bar alone when you've had a few drinks."

I get it. In your perfect, ideal world in which we've somehow been able to completely eliminate the crime of rape through cultural destruction and social engineering, we shouldn't have to tell women that it is a bad idea to stumble home alone from Mojo's at 3am after $2 jagerbomb night while going commando. That would be problematic!

However, that is not the world we live in. Whether it is problematic or not, there is a real and present danger of getting sexually assaulted (or even just mugged) walking home alone from the bar. There are shitty people running around after last call, as well as a lot of normal people who are now drunk and more likely to be violent and horrible. There are people walking around who will look at certain clothing items and think that that is a green light. They SHOULDN'T think that it is a green light, but for now they will, and fuck them for that.

So, if  I have a hypothetical daughter on her way to college, I am going to tell her that she shouldn't walk home from the bar alone. I don't care if that's problematic- I don't want her to get assaulted, and one way to avoid that will be to go out with friends, or better yet to not waste her valuable study-energy going out to a shitty bar like Mojo's. Who decided that hedonism was the greatest shit ever any way? fucking degenerate scum.

I will probably also tell her not to use websites like Omegle or Chatroulette, because in spite of the 'keep your clothes on' rule, those pages are full of perverts jerking their tiny chodes on camera looking to prey on young kids. "Don't tell me not to use omegle, tell predators not to jack off on cam!" Why not have both? I may even take the forbidden step and say "look, Sophia, you can wear whatever you want, I won't try to stop you, but know that there are shitty people out there who will think that they get to touch you up because you are wearing a short skirt." Kiss my ass and don't tell me how to raise my hypothetical kids.

I will NEVER say to or of someone who experienced an assault that they should have known better, or that they should have done something differently, because committing a rape is something that a rapist decides to do that nobody ever deserves. Similarly, I will never say of the astronauts who died on the Challenger that they should have fucking not gotten into a crash, because they didn't deserve to die. That doesn't mean we can't learn from shitty situations and alter our own behavior to avoid them for ourselves.

Fascist Show-and-tell #1

     I applaud this one for its diversity. I mean, they are actually portraying a racial minority as a victim rather than as a problem. Fascists are getting more progressive every day! The nerdy new-atheist kid is what really does it for me though- you just know he isn't bringing a white girlfriend home tonight. The pages of his New Atheism Manual are contain passages that are hard for non-euphoric individuals to comprehend, and pages that are difficult to separate.

    As you may have gathered from this image, fascists don't like feminism, homosexuality, drugs, or atheism. They don't like these things because they view them as 'degenerate'- meaning that they are breaking down the 'traditional values' that they believe to be so key to our survival. That, and they think there is a Jewish conspiracy to destroy our ancient, Jesus-given American Values.

WHAT IS THIS BLOG?

This blog is for my sanity. This blog is going to feature offensive content, seriously fucking raunchy language, a lot of bitching, and images so problematic that you are going to forget your own pronouns upon seeing them. It will also feature unmoderated comments that don't require a username. I will not be deleting any comments. Bring on the hate.

Most or all of the content will be written--AND EDITED--while drunk.

Feel free to complain about the content posted or about the offensive comments. I won't care. Go read something else.

I don't care if you want to have safe spaces. Go have them somewhere. This isn't one.

WHY?

For about six years I've been arguing with fascists on websites like Stormfront and /new/, and so I am used to a fairly low, crude, and problematic level of discourse. I am used to arguing with actual racists who have no qualms about throwing around racial and homophobic slurs and posting hilariously offensive ideas, theories, and judgments that almost reach the point of parody (but they aren't).

Given this experience, I am troubled by the sensitivity and the circlejerk of feels and crybabies that clogs the secular blogosphere like 1960's plumbing. I've followed the secular movement and its big fucking horrible self-congratulatory blog circlejerk for years now, and frankly, I fucking hate it. It's the biggest load of bullshit ever.

You know what I mean. The fucking self-victimizing, weak, mindless, crying thumbsuckers who are so fucking bored that they write blog posts about how oppressed they are because someone made fun of them in youtube comments. The pathetic, self-absorbed fedora-wearing pube-bearded perennial virgins who pretend to be huge supporters of feminism while also being some of the most pathetic, needy, misogynistic sexual deviants in the entire world. You privileged, ignorant fools who are so sheltered in the things that you've seen that you think "Blurred Lines" is an utter obscenity; I would love to see your reaction to 3guys1hammer. Or the worst of all- bloggers who blog about other bloggers! AM I SUPPOSED TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHAT PZ MEYERS AND HIS NECKBEARD THINK ABOUT JT EBERHARD AND HIS STUPID FUCKING PIRATE HAT?

Beyond that, I have some divergent opinions on social justice, feminism, and politics. These will probably make you angry. I hope you enjoy! But if you don't, I won't care.

WHAT WILL BE ON THIS BLOG

Drunken rants. Making fun of fascists. Making fun of non-fascists. Complaining about the secular community. Divergent, problematic opinions. Streams of consciousness.

I also want to do 'show-and-tell' from fascist forums with some of their hilariously stupid and offensive propaganda. Are you offended by racial slurs? Homophobic slurs? Offensive depictions of feminists, jews, even ATHEISTS? Don't read those posts. Please don't tell me how offended you are, because I won't remove content. Or care.

I'm very troubled by the growth of fascist ideas in this country. Fascism isn't founded on absurd, fringe ideas that don't make any sense. The ground work of fascism lies in a fear of immigrants, resentment of minorities for economic and social problems, and the idea that all of our problems lie in a degeneration of moral values. All of our dads could become fascists if they are captivated by the right speaker. This scares me. So, while you are all jerking yourselves off over how much better you are than Richard Dawkins after he says some inane, stupid bullshit, I am going to take the piss out of people who are actually a problem.
